St. Paul Catholic Church

†††† St. Paulís Ladies Altar Society was established in 1960 to help provide for many needs of our parish with their charitable work, spiritual aid, and volunteer efforts. In 2012 the organizationís name was changed to St. Paulís Catholic Women (SPCW) which proclaims to everyone that they honor our Catholic faith and represent the long line of faithful, hard-working women of our Church. SPCW is affiliated with the Catholic Women of the Birmingham Diocese, Northern Region (CWBD) through which they join other Catholic women of the diocese to focus on issues concerning the Church, diocese, and the world.

†††† Among their many projects, SPCW provides holiday food baskets for the needy; time and money to various pro-life organizations and other charities; meals, prayers, and consolation for grieving families after the death of a parishioner; support for families in times of need; and numerous others as the needs arise. St. Paulís Catholic Women relies on various fundraisers throughout the year to fund their projects and charities. These fundraisers have included annual yard sales, bake sales, and raffles.

Officers are elected to two-year terms. Current officers are as follows: Yvonne Dempsey, President; Pam McCue, Vice-President; Helen Kerry, Treasurer; and Marilyn Michael, Secretary. Meetings are usually held the second Thursday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the church hall, September through May. All ladies of the parish are encouraged to join.
