  • Critical Parish Announcements related to COVID-19:
    • Masses are suspended until further notice.  Fr Tom is livestreaming services (link here). Consider watching Mass on television or the internet. Bishop Barron has daily Masses (link here) Also, St Patrick Church, Yorktown Heights, NY (Fr John Wilson's church) has a live daily Mass on FaceBook at 11am.
    • All organized activities are cancelled to comply with government and Diocesan guidance.
    • For those in RCIA who were scheduled to receive Sacraments at the Easter Vigil, we will contact you with the new schedule.  Contact Pam and Michael McCue (256-603-8624) with any questions.
    • Keep those who have been affected by COVID-19 in your prayers.  Remember that we are all in God's loving hands.
  • Routine Parish Announcements:
    • We're changing our before-Mass prayers.  We will say the Prayer to St. Paul and the Prayer for Priests at the end of Rosary, instead of immediately before the beginning of Mass.
    • Exciting news!  St. Paul's is planning to build a Columbarium, a place for the blessed storage of urns that hold a deceased's cremated remains.  We need your support to make this happen.  Let the office know if you would be interested in a niche in the Columbarium, now or in the future.  Also, please prayerfully consider donating for this parish project.
    • There has been another round of scam (phishing) emails. If you receive a suspicious email, please call the office.
  • Administrative Announcements:
    • If you would like a 2019 contribution statement, call the office.  We can send it by email, mail it to you, or you can pick it up in the office.
    • If you would like 2020 contribution envelopes, contact the office.  Also if you have envelopes but don't want them, let us know and we won't prepare them next year.
  • Activities at St. Paul:
    • Support LCCI Food Bank with: cans of nuts, small cans of vegetables, Spam, Beanie Weenies, Baby Wipes
    • Divine Mercy Gift Shop open after 5:00pm Mass, between 8:30am and 11:15am Masses.
    • St Paul's Knights of Columbus are looking for a few good men... Men age 18 and up willing to assist with various projects around the Parish, make new friends, and add some life to your faith.  Contact Eddie Davidson at 256-431-4828. 
    • Are you willing to assist at Mass? We need Extraordinary Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Sacristans, Altar Servers. Contact the office to help.  We will train you, and you can set your schedule.  God will bless you.
    • Would you like to have Mass said in memory of or in honor of a loved one or special intention?  Just call the office. Schedule at least a month in advance if you have a specific date in mind.  It's customary to offer a $10 stipend, but not necessary.
  • Activities in the Area:
    • Volunteers in Tax Assistance (VITA) and our local RSVP charity offer to prepare taxes at no cost for the elderly and those who have a low income.  You can find this service at the Methodist Youth Center, 203 N Jefferson Street, Athens.
